My Affiliate Journey

Please follow me on my way to becoming an Affiliate for companies.  It's a WIN-WIN situation for both you and the companies.  Nope - No one can loose.  While you are advertising and selling products for various companies, you're earning a commision of up to 75 percent and the companies are profiting from each sale - Plus they will have acquired FREE ADVERTISING through their Affiliates.  So how did I start?  Well I'm so glad you asked that very intelligent and important question ;o).  Like so many of us web surfers who search for the most viable 'Work-from-Home' job, I stumbled upon one that I actually found interesting. I am enjoying the affiliate's role. I am enjoying blogging. I am enjoying the creativity. I am especially enjoying learning how to blog effectively using the HTML feature. I'm finding that generating income from something you enjoy doing, makes the job 1) FUN and 2) PROFITABLE.

I first stumbled upon the Direct Commerce Academy site. This is where I got started in my quest to becoming an Affiliate. From here, each click of the button took me to new heights of knowledge and by now, we know that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. They take you through step-by-step on how best to build your Affiliate business.

First thing's First - Here are some links you will need while you're building your blogs to make money:


Keep in mind that some of these links are free, while only a FEW cost (fairly cheap).


First  -  Create a Domain Name (e.g., tammieowen.com) and get a Web Host

Hostgator.com - this provides a server for your site; you can also become an Affiliate of Hostgator
Godaddy.com - this site provides you with a site domain name that will be linked to hostgator.com; this will also have a yearly subscription.

 Second - Create your blog(s)

Blog Building Sites
Google.com - this is where you can host your FREE blogs
WordPress.org - this site helps you organize and build acceptable blogs, with widgets, links, plugins, etc.

Third - Direct People to Your Site

Web Traffic
Attracta.com - This site will create a SEO for you to be able to drive people to your site.  For example, you will be linked to google.com and yahoo.com search engines and your site will be displayed when someone types in a tag word associated with your site. 


And Fourth - Start Building Your Affiliates

Get Your Affiliates and Make Some Money
Google Affiliate Network - you will need this site to access and advertise products sponsored by google

Adsense.com - after being approved in the Google Affiliate Network (GAN), you will then apply for an AdSense code which will be linked to your ads and enable you to be paid. 

      Note: It is important that you strictly follow the guidelines for advertising in your blog, because GAN will disapprove and close your AdSense account.

Commision Junction - Here's another product advertising vehicle similar to Google Affiliate Network.  It doesn't have as many advertisers as GAN, however, it is another option available to you should your AdSense account is ever disapproved.

LinkShare.com - Yet another product advertising vehicle similar to both Google Affiliate Network and Commision Junction. 

Clickbank.com - This is another affiliate site where you can advertise products and make up to 75% commission.

Here's an example of advertising products with Clickbank using what they call "HopLinks":

Click on one of the 3 tabs and a list of links will pop up for your customer to choose from. Once they click on one of the links, they will be taken to that page where they will be able to purchse that particular product.

Amazon.com - An affiliate site with many products for you to advertise.

Doba.com - this site is favorable because you are able to link through ebay and facebook to advertise.

Clicksor.com - An affiliate site with products that will POP UP on your blog for you to advertise.

Bidvertisor.com - Another affiliate site with many products for you to advertise

Chitika.com - This affiliate site caters to your blog and will advertise based on your blog's content.

I will advise you to obtain a PAYPAL account.  This will make all transaction easy as well as let your payments go directly into your account.
